One of my favorite blogs…

Just another good reason why the Home made lure blog is something I read regularly… As it happens, the mackerel rig combined with a spoon or lure makes a productive rig  for sailboat speeds just about anywhere you’ll find yourself.

The Home Made Lure Blog is a great read. There’s always lots of excellent ideas and very clear instructions on how to make awesome lures… Like this Flying C Spinner… Just a thought but this would make a great trolling lure for sailing speeds if you made it about twice as big.

No such thing as a scrap piece of teak…

Doing some boat projects on “So It Goes” has left me with some old teak chain plate backing pads that are no longer needed. What to do? I kinda like the thought of doing a bunch of teak lures…

I’m just about to do a remake of my lobster snare as the stainless wire I used took about a day to start rusting and only a couple of weeks to become unusable. The new version will use some heavy mono fishing line (200 pound test) and should make the mark two version maintenance free… …

An excellent resource…

Saltwater Fly Tying really is a must see for anyone fly fishing and there are always good ideas to get the creative juices flowing… I really like this little popper and a how-to video of how to tie it can be found here.
